Mechanical Designer/Manufacturing Engineer
Key Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities:
We are currently seeking an individual to provide technical and engineering support for our manufacturing and product assembly processes. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate with all departments and understand all aspects of parts sourcing, part and assembly QA/QC, interpretation and revision of 2D/3D CAD drawings and models, create standard operating procedures such as build books, maintain and train others in the maintenance of existing manufacturing equipment, and optimize production processes, tooling and fixtures.
Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD: Ability to work with 3D assemblies and translate parts into accurate 2D drawings to ASTM standards, generate accurate bill-of-materials (BOM’s), and generate and provide support documentation for internal use and/or outside vendors. Ability to error detect and correct is essential.
Proficient in manufacturing processes and mechanical systems. Experience in handling liquids, gasses, laser-based fabrication and vacuum systems is a plus. Ability to learn and execute new methods and processes is essential.
Machine shop skills: drill, manual lathe, vertical mill (manual/CNC), 3D printing is a plus.
