The candidate must be motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment in a closely
knit engineering organization composed of mechanical engineers, electrical system engineers,
optical designers, and software engineers. The team objective is to deliver highly technical,
intricate, and efficient automated solutions for the semiconductor equipment industry and to
consumer product producers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quickly envision and produce conceptual designs and mechanical layouts, including the
preparation of costed bill of materials and estimated research and development time
Fully convey the design aspect and application of customer specification input
Communicate with customers during all phases of a project
Provide technical credibility during customer meetings and clearly identify and discuss
with customers any questions, issues, and challenges
Use knowledge and experience to come up with pneumatic and connectivity diagrams
to aid engineers in the design and layout of plumbing and process components
Be a team leader to guide and train junior engineers on the latest and best engineering
Perform all other duties as assigned

Basic Background Requirements
15+ years of experience in full product design, from requirements through production
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Understanding of system layout, pneumatic, and electrical design
Broad understanding of electromechanical systems and familiarity with optics designs
Expertise in SolidWorks CAD modeling software
Fluency in PowerPoint
Working proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus
Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues and customers
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization (team members and senior
management), including CO Engineers in China, Vietnam, and India during their
respective working hours

Key Performance Objectives
Short Term: (0 to 3 months)
Learn and understand key CO products and customers
Forge Relationships with Engineering and Operations Leadership
Understand the CO product development process.
Learn the CO proposal development process
Assume responsibility for transitioning design projects from more senior ME’s.
Midterm: (3 to 9 months)
Completely own at least one major product development project, including
meeting schedules and deliverables.
Mentor and encourage less-experienced engineers in the San Jose office.
Longer Term: (9 months)
Close at least one phase of one major project.
Assume at least one additional major project or two minor projects.
Other (ad hoc priorities):
Work with management to improve product proposal process and product
development process.
Mentor less-experienced engineers in the China, Vietnam, and Indian offices using
small projects as training vehicles.
