Business Development Manager (Consumer Electronics Industry)
Position:
- The Business Development Manager – Consumer Electronics is a new role within the CO.
- Reports to VP of Business Development and Customer Operations.
- It is a position that will be responsible for identifying prospective customers and developing long term relationships with new customers in the Consumer Electronics Industry Segment.
- The person in this role will spend the majority of their time identifying prospective customers in the Consumer Electronics Industry segment and attract long-term strategic customers for CO,Inc. through a combination of effective outbound prospecting activities and successful communication of CO solutions and overall vision.
- To be successful the candidate must have experience in the consumer electronics industry, be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, technically competent and be able to land new customers.
- The individual will develop and support opportunities for all CO facilities (Vietnam, China, India and the US).
Basic Background Requirements:
- Experience in the consumer electronics industry
- Major account business development skills.
- Experience with establishing long term relationships with customers
- The ability to identify prospective customers and qualify their fit to the company’s capabilities.
- Expected to take ownership of the opportunity and help drive internal teams to meet customer demands
- Detailed, orientated and responsive to prospective customer needs. The ability to maintain sales reporting tools.
- Energetic and competitive personality to win new business
- The ability to work with all levels of the organization (Prospective Customers and internal to CO).
- The candidate should have an Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to resolve issues and provide creative solutions
- Understands the capabilities of all CO development and production sites
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Technically Astute and knowledge of automation, test and measurement equipment a plus
- Helpful, but not required is an engineering degree or other technical training
Key Performance Objectives:
Short Term: (0 to 3 months)
- Learn and understand key capabilities of CO
- Forge Relationships with Engineering and Operations Leadership
- Understand the CO Business Development process.
- Prospect, Active Account, Strategy Statement Approval, Plant Visits, and RFQ process.
- Develop an understanding of the CO quote development process
- Begin the prospecting process of identifying prospective customers for CO
- Assume responsibility for existing prospective accounts
Midterm: (3 to 9 months)
- Identify approximately 2 new active accounts (prospects) per month
- Complete 1 new approved strategy statements every month
- Complete approximately 1 new RFQ per month.
- Add 2 new customers
Longer Term: (>9 months)
- Identify approximately 2 new active accounts (prospects) per month
- Complete 1 new approved strategy statements per month
- Complete approximately 2 new RFQs per month.
- On an annual basis land 4 new customers per year that meet CO Revenue and profitability expectations
Other (ad hoc priorities)
- Identify and lead improvement processes with the business development processes
