? Develop mechanical product design solutions based on engineering principles, technical
calculations, and modeling techniques.
? Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering
problems, and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and in budget.
? Resolve design or operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or
unexpected cost increases.
? Create and maintain accurate documentation of all product designs including CAD database
revisions, components drawings, BOM, technical specifications, etc.
? Participate in meetings, product discussions, and presentations to the client.
? Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.
? Must be within comfortable commuting distance of 95116 zip code
? Minimum 6-8 years of industry and/or consulting experience
? Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
? Proficient in SolidWorks
? Comfortable with standard Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
? Experience designing injection molded, die-cast & sheet metal components.
? Experience designing electromechanical devices including specification of motors,
mechanical drive systems, robotics, thermal considerations, IOT devices, etc.
? Comfortable leading product design, managing suppliers, and building up prototypes
? Capable of critical thinking, long term system planning, and able to work independently and
on a team.
? Exceptional problem-solving skills, creative, proactive, resourceful, self-motivated, and
? Ability to prioritize and multitask multiple projects with a proven track record.
? Capable engineer that likes to get things done quickly and correctly the first time through.
? Travel as required to support projects.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
? Experience working with Industrial Design teams and/or inputs
? Experience with FEA and/or CFD
? Experience bringing products to manufacture including DFM and DFA on new or existing
? Knowledge of GD&T
? Willingness or desire to lead other engineers in development of technical skills and provide
critical review and guidance to teammate s analysis and design.
